I mean, we all know Dalton's motive for destroying Guardia. no, you wouldn't understand." I thought that should have been explained. (I assumed Crono meant his overthrowing Guardia and killing Marle's father.) And then Zeal said something like, "That was. At one point, Crono interjects that Zeal has no right to talk about right and wrong, after what he did. The one I can remember, since it's freshest in my mind, was during King Zeal's speech at the end, rationalizing his actions. I had several other questions, but unfortunately I forgot about them as I progressed through the videos. It should've been much stronger, and it should've been triggered as soon as Marle came into the room. But I, too, had some qualms (though, to be fair, I had far more qualms regarding Chrono Cross, and that game was official ).įor starters, I agree with Bisqwit and neo-fusion - Crono's reaction to seeing his wife alive was very underwhelming. I just finished watching the CE playthrough too. Well, at least until the lawyers hunt and attack the Youtube channel as well. I'm glad that your effort was at least partly salvaged as a machinima shown here. Overall, I am highly impressed what you accomplished here. Zeal's argument is a typical power-hungry person's PoV. I think Zeal's argument is invalidated by the virtue that the imagination of one mortal is not wise or valid enough to render a new world that concerns trillions of lifes. Much more appropriate than random ADHD running on walls would have been. I think it is appropriate especially when making a video that is to be shown to others. Since Belthasar has still not left Chronopolis through time travel, how can he have any recollection of past timelines? I mean, at 7:27, he is telling what would have happened.įrom his perspective, it should be that what has now happened has always been having happened, as we have established numerous times during this game.ĮDIT: Hmm, he now has agents who do have timetravelled, and can update him. Whatever happened to Glenn's five years of misery? By my reckoning, he still has personally experienced them :(.īut whatever happened in the 600s, then? Hasn't Glenn been simply absent for those five years? Nobody seems particularly surprised on seeing him after a long absense, though. But the question was valid, and I think it should have been discussed in the script. I don't think we need those in CT continuity. It's probably unintentional, but if they put Glenn's Masamune there, they'd invoke an ontological paradox. One reader asked why they simply did not place Glenn's Masamune there. But I bet no such possibility was introduced in the game. I read about the Time Bastard theory on Chrono Compendium ― according to this theory, they should have ended up in the revised reality, and mysteriously vanished to thin air after the time corresponding to the time they spent in the reptite reality (a theory which I find kind of lacking). (I was also expecting him to say something marked about his wife when he saw the remains.) Guess he does not love Marle that much after all? One-sided love?Īlso, what happened to those Crono, Glenn and Magus that were sent away by King Zeal in the revised reality? They could not have ended up in the reptite world, because Marle and others did not either. Crono was really shocked when he saw what had happened to his wife in the reptite reality, and for such a strong negative emotional impact I think an equally strong positive impact would have been highly appropriate. I mean, Crono was simply staring ahead, unreacting when Marle walked into the room, but even when Marle finally triggered snapped Crono out of it by talking to him, his reaction was quite bleh compared to what I was expecting. The reaction seen here was somewhat of a let-down. I was very much expecting Crono to hug Marle passionately when seeing her alive and healthy I know I would have. Here are some of my reactions/comments regarding Crimson Echoes, after watching the whole playthrough video with comments during the passage of a few days.
